US ambassador to Indonesia Robert Blake visits Tasikoki!

On 8 and 9 January, the US ambassador to Indonesia – Robert Blake – visited the wildlife and rescuecenter Tasikoki in North Sulawesi.

The ambassador congratulated Tasikoki with its unique approach and its role in combating illicit trafficking, and cooperating with the local population, wherein rural communities are assisted in setting up sustainable food and energy programs. He further said that the United States are proud to support Masarang’s Sustainable Development and Wildlife Conservation Program in North Sulawesi.

The visit is a great recognition for all the work in and around Tasikoki carried out by the staff and management (Simon Purser, Angela D’Alessio), local employees, Masarang Indonesia, Willie Smits, and not to mention all the volunteers which Tasikoki help with finances and hard labor!

In the Netherlands we are proud of this result, and bring again Tasikoki under attention and call for volunteers to help! It is not only a fun but also a very informative and rewarding experience.
